Three-member panel policy

We now have a policy for three-member panels. The policy explains the limited circumstances for these types of hearings.
Appeals at the Social Security Tribunal of Canada (SST) are usually heard by 1 member (decision maker). In some cases, the chairperson may choose to have 3 members hear a specific appeal.
The policy outlines:
- the types of appeals that may be suitable for a three-member panel;
- when notice of a three-member panel is given to parties; and
- how a three-member panel gives its decision and reasons.
We invite you to check out the policy. Contact us if you have any questions.
