Our website revamp is underway

We believe user-centred design is at the core of developing accessible justice systems. For a tribunal like the SST, this means having an intuitive website where users can quickly and easily find what they are looking for, and understand the information that’s being provided.

Revamping our website is a key priority for the SST. To do this right, we wanted to know what works and what doesn’t work.

We conducted user testing with a diverse group of self-represented appellants, and consulted internally with our front-line staff who work directly with the people who use our appeal system. The results spoke loud and clear – the current site simply doesn’t work well enough. Testing results clearly showed that our website isn’t focused on the users and their needs.

The good news is that we are fixing that. Our web revamp will be based on evidence of what appellants need, through user testing and analytics, not assumptions.

Thanks to the appellants and representatives who helped us with testing. We will be reaching out again soon to seek feedback on the new design for the website.

We have a lot more work ahead of us before our new site is complete – stay tuned!
